History in Malta

Malta’s earliest inhabitants date back to 8,000 years ago. Since then we have inherited unique world heritage which include our World Heritage Neolithic Temples which are older than Stone Henge and the Pyramids of Egypt. Such temples include Hagar Qim, Mnajdra Ggantija and the Hypogeum. Another landmark in the Maltese history was the presence of Knights of St. John who have left immense heritage such as Valletta city and the various costal towers which made Malta a centre of attraction since then. Apart from Neolithic era and the Knights, Malta's History was further enriched with the presence of the Roman, French, Arab and English Empires. All this has made Malta one the most richest countries in terms of heritage and culture.
